Creating a new publication using Page maker

Creating a new publication in Adobe PageMaker involves using the Document Setup dialog box to define the structural properties of your file, such as page size, orientation, and margins.

Steps to Create a New Publication

  1. Open the Application: Launch Adobe PageMaker 7.0 from your Start menu or desktop.

  1. Access New Command:

     (a)  Click on File in the top menu bar and select New.

     (b)  Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + N (Windows) or Cmd + N (Mac).

  1. Configure Document Setup: When the Document Setup dialog box appears, enter your desired settings:

      (a)  Page Size: Choose from presets like A4, Letter, or select “Custom” to enter specific dimensions.

      (b)  Orientation: Select Tall for Portrait or Wide for Landscape.

      (c)  Options:

->  Check Double-sided if the publication will be printed on both sides.

->  Check Facing Pages if you want to see left and right pages side-by-side.

       (d)  Number of Pages: Type the total number of pages you want to start with (you can add more later).

       (e)  Margins: Specify the Inside, Outside, Top, and Bottom margin values.

  1. Finalise: Click OK to generate your blank publication. It will open with the default name “Untitled-1”.
