Introduction

Microsoft Excel (MS Excel) is a spreadsheet application developed by Microsoft. It is  used to organize, calculate, analyze, and present data in a tabular form. Excel helps users perform simple calculations as well as complex data analysis using formulas, functions, charts, and graphs.

 

Main Components of MS Excel

  • Workbook: The Excel file.
  • Worksheet: A single spreadsheet within the workbook.
  • Row: Horizontal line of cells, numbered (1, 2, 3…).
  • Column: Vertical line of cells, labeled (A, B, C…).
  • Cell: Intersection of a row and a column (e.g., A1, B2).
  • Formula Bar: Displays or edits the contents of the selected cell.
  • Ribbon: Contains tabs and commands for performing different tasks.

 

Advantages of MS Excel

Limitations of MS Excel
