Digital Screens
Digital screens are electronic display devices used to show text, images, videos, and presentations. They are widely used in classrooms, homes, offices, hospitals, shopping malls, and public places. The three common types of digital screens are LED, LCD, and Plasma.
LED Screen (Light Emitting Diode)
An LED screen is a display that uses Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to produce bright, sharp, and colorful images. Most modern LED TVs are actually LCD panels illuminated by LED backlighting.
Advantages
- Excellent picture quality.
- Consumes less electricity.
- Produces less heat.
- Longer life than LCD and Plasma.
- Suitable for bright rooms.
- Environment-friendly (mercury-free).
Disadvantages
- More expensive than LCD.
- Repairs can be costly.
- Premium models are expensive.

2. LCD Screen (Liquid Crystal Display)
An LCD screen uses liquid crystals placed between glass layers. A fluorescent or LED backlight passes through the crystals to produce images.
Advantages
- Affordable price.
- Lightweight and portable.
- Uses less electricity than older CRT displays.
- Produces little heat.
- Good for office and educational use.
Disadvantages
- Lower contrast than LED.
- Narrower viewing angles.
- Backlight may become dim over time.
- Slightly slower response than LED in some cases.

3. Plasma Screen
A Plasma screen contains tiny cells filled with gas. When electricity passes through these cells, the gas becomes plasma and emits light to create images.
Advantages
- Rich and vibrant colors.
- Excellent contrast.
- Wide viewing angle.
- Smooth motion for videos and sports.
Disadvantages
- Consumes more electricity.
- Produces more heat.
- Heavier than LED and LCD.
- Risk of image burn-in if the same image is displayed for a long time.
- Largely discontinued and replaced by LED and OLED technology.
